Dolce & Gabbana to Sell Perfume for Babies
Dolce & Gabbana to Sell Perfume for Babies… But how can you improve on perfection?
Is there any nicer smell in the world than a new baby? Apart from when they’ve moved onto solids or formula and your nappy change involves cleaning up to the back of their neck (you know the one), most mums would agree that their baby’s scent is the sweetest smell on earth.
But Dolce & Gabbana think it can be improved upon and want to charge you more than $50 for the privilege. Their perfume, which is due to go on sale later in the year, has been inspired by the “softness of baby skin” and the “freshness of baby breath” and contains the scents of citrus, melon and honey, to “cuddle and pamper every little boy and girl.”
Launching the product, child-less designer Stefano Gabbana said: “How can babies smell even sweeter than they already do? That familiar smell associated with babies will only be accentuated by this Dolce & Gabbana fragrance.”
The perfume is alcohol free and designed for delicate skin, however they’ve yet to release a full list of ingredients. Other luxury brands have also put out perfumes for babies, including Burberry with their ‘Baby Touch’ eau de toilette, which apparently has a light and delicate fragrance of rhubarb, orange zest, mandarin and milk.
So what’s next? Baby eye-shadow and blusher? What about mascara for batting those baby blues?
Would you use perfume on your baby? We’d love to know what you think in the comments below.
